Trump demands Microsoft fire global affairs head Lisa Monaco

[ad_1]

President Donald Trump declared Friday that Microsoft needs to fire Lisa Monaco, the companyโ€™s president of global affairs.

Citing her roles as โ€œa senior National Security aide under Barack Hussein Obama, and a Lawfare and Weaponization obsessed Deputy Attorney General under Crooked Joe Biden and Lisaโ€™s Puppet โ€˜Bossโ€™ Attorney General Merrick Garland,โ€ Trump posted on Truth Social that Monacoโ€™s current role gives her access to โ€œHighly Sensitive Information,โ€ which he deemed โ€œunacceptable.โ€

โ€œIt is my opinion that Microsoft should immediately terminate the employment of Lisa Monaco,โ€ he wrote.

As Trump noted, Monaco worked with both Barack Obama and Joe Biden, including as a deputy attorney general under the Biden administration. Trump rescinded Monacoโ€™s security clearance earlier this year, in the an order that did the same for Biden, Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, and the Biden family.

TechCrunch has reached out to Microsoft for comment. Monaco joined the company in May, taking on a role that oversees the companyโ€™s cybersecurity policy, as well as its relationships with world governments.

Far-right activist and Trump ally Laura Loomer has repeatedly criticized Microsoft for hiring Monaco in posts on X, including a post complaining that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella was โ€œborn in Indiaโ€ and accusing him of โ€œdisgraceful scammer behavior.โ€ย On Friday, Loomed triumphantly quoted Trumpโ€™s post and again called on the president to โ€œcancel all of Microsoftโ€™s government contracts.โ€

This isnโ€™t the first time Trump has targeted a tech executive since returning to office. He previously said that Intel President Lip-Bu Tan must โ€œresign immediatelyโ€ over alleged conflicts of interest. Then, after Intel gave the government a 10% stake in exchange for funding already committed by the Biden administration, Trump described Tan as a โ€œHighly Respected Chief Executive Officer.โ€
