Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson were catching strays at the 2025 ESPY Awards.
The former NFL coach, 73, and his girlfriend, 24, found themselves the butt of the joke during part of comedian and ceremony host Shane Gillis’ opening monologue, calling out the May December nature of their romance.
“A bookie,” Shane said during his monologue, “is what Bill Belichick reads to his girlfriend before bedtime.”
The 37-year-old then proceeded to list the “books” the pair read, among them the “Very Horny Caterpillar, The Little Engine That Could But Needed a Pill First,” and, Shane’s favorite, “Goodnight Boobs.”
The ribbing, the comedian cautioned, was all meant to be in good fun.
“Also, I’m not trashing Bill Belichick,” he said. “First off, he’s 73-years-old and he’s dating a hot 24-year-old and people are criticizing him? What happened to this country? We used to be a great country.”
Shane continued, “He won six Super Bowls. Yeah, he’s dating a hot 24-year-old. Maybe if you guys won six Super Bowls.”
