When it comes to the prospect of returning to American Idol as a judge, the answer is an easy one for the season six winner.
“Yes—you didn’t even have to finish the question,” Jordin, 35, revealed to E! News at the Elizabeth Taylor Night of Compassion in Beverly Hills on Sept. 18. “I think it would be a lot of fun.”
Though back in the day, the “No Air” singer would have given a different answer.
“I remember getting asked that question a lot right after I won Idol,” she recalled. “And I would get a little startled, because I was like, ‘I can’t judge people when I’m still growing. I’m still learning.’ I think I did have stuff I probably could have told them.”
However, a lot has changed since 2007. “I’ve gone through so much,” she explained. “I like being a mentor. I like being able to help someone and encourage them and say, ‘Hey, why don’t we try this? Did you ever think about trying it this way?’ So, I would love to, if that opportunity ever arose. Put my name in the hat, please.”
