โThe preliminary contributing factor for this crash appears to be Smith failing to yield the right of way to the pedestrian,โ authorities said in the release. โHe showed no signs of impairment. There are no charges at present as the investigation continues.โ
After the incident, Dobbins was taken to a local hospital, where she died shortly thereafter, per the release.
Though Conner has yet to speak out on the tragic accident, his attorney Worrick G. Robinson expressed the singerโs condolences on his behalf.ย
โOn June 8th, Mr. Smith was involved in a car accident that tragically claimed a life,โ the rep said in a June 9 statement to E! News. โHis heart goes out to Ms. Dobbinsโ family during this incredibly difficult time.โ
