Bobby Berk on Queer Eye Cancelation

Bobby Berk wasnโ€™t eyeing to throw shade.

The interior designer announced his new HGTV series Junk or Jackpot? on July 10, just one day after news that Queer Eyeโ€”on which he starred with Karamo Brown, Antoni Porowski, Jonathan Van Ness (JVN) and Tan France before being replaced by Jeremiah Brent in 2024โ€”was canceled after 10 seasons.ย ย

While the timing of his announcement raised eyebrows, Bobby said it was anything but a dig on his old show.

โ€œI swear on my motherโ€™s life, my show announcement date was set,โ€ Bobby told People in an interview published Aug. 22. โ€œThis was planned. Show announcements donโ€™t happen on a whim.โ€

The 43-year-old added that even one of his former costars reached out to get some clarification, saying, โ€œKaramo was like, โ€˜Girl, the day after?โ€™ Iโ€™m like, โ€˜No, no, no. I promise you it was already planned.โ€

Besides, according to Bobby, he had no idea Queer Eye was on the chopping block. As he put it, Netflix โ€œcould have easily given me a heads-up on when that was going to be announced.โ€
