Testing Oakcha Perfume Dupes: Le Labo, Baccarat Rouge

โ€œI call Aventus For Her my โ€˜rich auntieโ€™ perfume, since itโ€™s the kind of scent Iโ€™d always picture myself wearing as a grown up. Fresh, floral, and woodsy is a combination I can never get enough of, and this sophisticated perfume offers exactly that. It develops into something fruitier over time, with refreshing hints of sweet peach, pineapple, and green apple. Iโ€™d say that Akimbo, Oakchaโ€™s copycat iteration, is about 85% on point. You smell the pineapple and green apple notes right away, but they are a bit too overpowering and cloying in this case, and you donโ€™t get as much of the amber, rose, and ylang ylang notes compared to the original. It does have a lovely projection and you can smell it from a distance. Overall, Aventus For Her edges out Akimbo for me as I prefer how the former interacts on my skin and itโ€™s a bit more complex. But given Akimbo offers great value-for-money, Iโ€™m going to use it as an everyday stand-in and save my Creed for special occasions.โ€ โ€” Venus Wong, Senior Writer
