Giannis back from right calf injury, scores 29 in Bucks win

Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 29 points in his return from an eight-game absence Saturday night, leading Milwaukee to a 112-103 win over the host Chicago Bulls.

Antetokounmpo, who had been out since Dec. 3 due to a right calf strain, played 25 minutes and went 10-of-15 from the field.

Milwaukee went 2-6 in the eight games without Antetokounmpo, falling to 11th place in the East at 12-19.

Earlier this month, Antetokounmpo called the injury a soleus strain, the same injury that kept him out of the 2024 playoffs.

Antetokounmpo entered Saturday’s game with averages of 28.9 points, 10.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists while shooting 63.9% from the field. Milwaukee is 10-8 when he plays and 3-11 when he is sidelined.
