Tom Brady Clones Late Dog

Tom Brady‘s family game plan will have you seeing double.

Nearly two years after the former NFL quarterback’s beloved dog Lua died, he revealed that his new pup Junie is a clone of his former pet thanks to the help of biotech company Colossal Biosciences.

“I love my animals,” Tom shared in a Nov. 4 press release obtained by People. “They mean the world to me and my family. A few years ago, I worked with Colossal and leveraged their non-invasive cloning technology through a simple blood draw of our family’s elderly dog before she passed.”

The company—which also announced its acquisition of biotech company ViaGen Pets and Equine—was able to give the 48-year-old’s family, as Tom put it, “A second chance with a clone of our beloved dog.”

“I am excited how Colossal and Viagen’s tech together can help both families losing their beloved pets,” Tom—who adopted Lua with his now-ex-wife Gisele Bündchen in 2014—added, “while helping to save endangered species.”
